Donations Wish List
Items We Are Currently Able to Accept
Thank you very much for your offer to support our work.
Please read the information on our How You Can Help page about the items we can accept and why, before checking out our current Wish List below.
Thank you for your understanding.
We always need towels and have high demand for trainers, backpacks as well as deoderant and shampoo (in unopened travel size bottles).
If you are able to help, please message Ellen on 07791 467630 to check that we still require the clothing or other items and to make an appointment to deliver your donations. It is very important that we know when you are coming to ensure a member of staff is available to meet you. Sorry, but we’re unable to routinely collect items.
Food and other Perishable items
We are very fortunate to have arrangements with Fareshare and other providers to supply us with the fresh and other foodstuff we require. As a result, we rarely accept extra donations of food.
Our Kitchen at the Huggard Centre operates under the same food and hygiene regulations as any other commercial premises, so we can not accept items whch are “out of date”, past the “use by date”, opened or partially consumed. We are also committed to reducing food waste and wouldn’t take any items we can’t properly store or use.
Clothing Wish List
We ask that all clothing is either New or in Very Good condition and in Small or Medium sizes. However, we currently also require some items in a Large. Please let us know the size of any clothing when messaging about a donation.
The clothing should be casual wear and suitable for someone aged 18 to 35 such as…
- Teeshirts
- Jogging bottoms
- Boxer shorts
- Socks (in matching pairs)
- Ladies pants in size 8-12
- Men's jeans
- Thermal gloves.
Items in high demand
- Towels - we always need these and they can be in any usable condition
- Backpacks and holdalls
- Trainers.
Seasonal Items
Toiletries
Please note that we can only accept toiletries if they are new, unopened and in their original packaging.
Small bottles (ideally travel size) of…
- Deoderant - we are always in need of this item
- Shampoo - another high demand product
- Shower Gel
- Shaving Foam
- Hair Combs/brushes
- Nail clippers and nail care kits
- Razors.
We do not currently need sanitary products and cannot accept bath products (we don’t have any baths within the centre).
We have little demand for…
- Shoes (we sometimes accept robust shoes with no heel)
- Handbags.
We currently do not need…
- Partywear or formal clothing
- Items of furniture.
We have no need of...
- Children's clothing, toys or equipment (our centre is used by Adults only).
We, politely request that all items are clean, unmarked/unstained, don’t some signs of excess wear or are in need of mending.
Sadly, we do not have much storage space, so ask for the items to be season relevant, e.g. donations of coats and warm clothing during Winter and lighter items in the Summer.
We are also currently appealing for…
- Canvases and sketchpads
- Modelling clay and craft sets.
Thank you for thinking of us and for your kind donations.
