Day Team Worker Job Description

Day Team Worker – To join our Day Centre team providing help and support for homeless people – Salary £17,334

Key Tasks:

  • Provide a first contact point for Huggard clients and other visitors and callers
  • Present a friendly and professional first contact service
  • Deal with day to day issues with regard to access, exclusion and first line support to Huggard clients, visitors and callers in line with agreed procedures
  • Actively engage with Huggard clients to provide a supportive, welcoming, safe and clean environment
  • Support Huggard clients to access appropriate services, referring as appropriate
  • Appropriately report any issues which are a cause for concern, raising an alarm if necessary
  • Providing an immediate appropriate response to any incidences in line with procedures
  • Maintain a log Book and keep appropriate database records
  • Monitor and report maintenance and service issues
  • Attend team meetings and take part in supervision
  • To undertake other duties as reasonably required by management

Person Specification:

  • An ability and willingness to positively engage with Huggard clients, an ability to work in a non-judgemental way and be able to demonstrate care and respect for individuals.
  • Experience of handling and resolving conflicts
  • An ability to use IT and to enter and retrieve information from a database.
  • A commitment to own personal development
  • An ability to follow detailed procedures
  • A commitment to high professional standards
